I understand that anything that is new can raise many questions. In the case of CollabSpot Boards, I’m pretty sure that some of you have many questions that you would want answers to.
So with that in mind, I went ahead and asked the people behind WeMakeProjects a few basic questions which I think some of you are asking yourself.
Do I need a Google Apps account to use CollabSpot Boards? Why?
Yes, you do. Since CollabSpot was geared to be used in the exchange of files, the developers needed a secure, fast and reliable platform to in storing and uploading data. And since Google Apps is one, if not the most trusted name on the internet, it was logical for them to use the platform.
How many users can CollabSpot Boards handle?
CollabSpot has 3 versions. Though all three allows for unlimited number of users, each differs when it comes to the number of available boards.
Free version – 2 boards
Plus version – 10 boards
Premium version – 35 boards
Do I need to download anything to run CollabSpot Boards?
Nope! CollabSpot is browser based.
Is it available in different languages?
As of now, CollabSpot is only available in English. But I have been told that they are working to add different languages to the app.
Is it fully customizable?
If what you mean by fully customizable is that you can change header colors of the lists and cards, the answer is no… But that’s for the time being.
From what I understand, CollabSpot is supposed to be an ever evolving platform. So I’m pretty sure that full customization is not farfetched. What you can customize though in terms of color is the labels for the cards.
How stable is the system?
Being browser based, there is no down time, so it’s super stable. But then again, factors such as internet connection speed, and the type of browser that you’re using can affect its performance.
Though internet connection speed is not that big of an issue, the people from CollabSpot highly suggest that users use the latest version of whatever browser they’re using.
How long does the Free version last?
Technically the Free version lasts forever. This is because there is a trial version which lasts for 30 days.
What happens to the files I uploaded on CollabSpot Boards once I decide to stop using it?
Since all the files uploaded to CollabSpot Boards goes through Google Docs, it will still remain in your Docs account.
So CollabSpot Boards is just a medium from where documents are shared?
Yes, correct! CollabSpot Boards only facilitates the transfer and sharing of documents and in no way saves these files into any third person server.
This ensures that whatever security Google provides for your files is absolutely maintained.
Now these are but some questions presented to me by friends that I have shown CollabSpot Boards to which were answered by the people behind CollabSpot. If you have further questions regarding the Google Apps project management tool CollabSpot Boards, you can either post your inquiry below or go to the CollabSpot website and send them an email.
And if you want to try the app out, go to the Apps Marketplace and install CollabSpot.
