Mobile printing with Google Cloud Print

Google Cloud Print

Google has been tirelessly trying to finish their new service which gives will give its user the ability of remote cloud based printing regardless of where they are in the planet. This new toy is Google Cloud Print.

Will Google Cloud Print only work with Chrome OS/Chrome?

The word is that Google Cloud print can be used by any app, and can be used through any browser across multiple devices. For example, Chrome in Chrome OS is going to use Google Cloud Print  when printing webpages. It will also include a cloud print proxy which will connect printers that are not cloud aware.

There is also an option of using third party open source cloud print proxy codes.

The idea behind Google Cloud Print

The idea is to have native connection support between printers and services that offer cloud printing. Also, the standard print driver or PC connection is no longer needed.

One major issue though is that cloud aware printers are still in development. And this is why this news is being circulated within and outside of the industry by websites such as ours in order to make the movers and shakers of this industry to develop cloud aware printers plus its communication protocols.

Cloud printing is another big leap for the industry. And with the steady migration to cloud computing, we firmly believe that the end consumer will greatly benefit from this.

But for now, all we can do is wait for further news about this. Be assured that we will keep a close look at this story and will inform you religiously about it.

Google cloud print sure doesn’t work for me.  I’ve followed all the instructions, running chrome on Windows XP.  In chrome, it says that all my printers are registered, but when I print a test page, it relates that no printers are there.  Of course, I can’t get any real help from google as there are no live contacts and the FAQ doesn’t relate to my issue.  I suppose when they’re really ready to release cloud print it might work.

Yes, Google Cloud Print works. But what a bunch of morons!

If you have a 33 page document and you wish to print only page 17, it’s not possible with Cloud Print. It only prints ALL of the document.

What kind of moron system designers does Google hire?
