For those who were clamoring for the return of checkboxes to Google Docs, Google answered your prayers and have returned them to Docs. Google said that they were bombarded with requests of bringing back the checkboxes, and they did.
In light of this, we will give you several ways of how to fully take advantage of it.
Multiply Selection Of Items
Selecting multiple items saves you time when organizing a large number of documents.
What you do is hold down shift, and click on the boxes of the corresponding file. (You can click on as many as you want. See arrow 1)
To organize them, just click on the drop down menu named “Action” on the right side. (See arrow 2)
Dragging and Dropping
Don’t forget that you can still drag and drag a series of files. Now that the checkboxes have returned, you’re able to easily see what you’re going to drag – and this is really useful for when you have a larger number of Docs that you want to organize.
You can still use the Actions menu item on the left hand side to do this as well.
Drag and Drop
The drag and drop action for Google Docs is still available. With the return of checkboxes, knowing what you are about to drag is much easier.
You also have the option of using the Actions menu found on the left hand side of the screen.
To select everything, click on the uppermost checkbox and then use the Action button beside it to do whatever it is you wish with the selected files. To exclude files, all you have to do is to click on Ctrl and start clicking the checkboxes of the files you wish to exclude.
I know that not everyone is aware that the checkboxes disappeared for a bit. But if you did, then I hope the simple tips I just gave will help you to navigate Google Docs faster.
